Sometimes, in my head, one book pushes another to the side -- in this case, it's two or three books jostling for position in my grey matter. And the characters running around up there look like the folks below -- Dean Norris and Oksana Lada go together.
And in yet another musing, Jason Statham, the young man on the left in the officers' photo and this red-headed model are connected.
I use a lot of visuals when it comes to characters, who they are, what they look like. So, here's my 'stable' full of 'go-tos' when I need some inspiration. Yes, I too find it odd that I can 'see' the male characters, but not so much with the women!
From my work in progress right now, "For Her, Always".
As stated above, I rarely see female characters in my head, but this time around I did -- a young Grace Kelly as 'Holly.'
And her suitor, 'Jesse' -- Jon Secada.
From "Known & Wanted" -- almost an entire family!
(the story's with the publisher right now!)

Maybe it's type casting, but Bruce Willis is always a great go-to for a lawman. In my case, he's 'Sheriff Eli Martin' of the imagined Birch County, Ohio.
Then, there are his twin boys, 'Mike' and 'Dan'--who popped up in my Facebook feed from a law enforcement page I follow. (And, I'd already wrote them as being with a sheriff's office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, before this photo popped up. Coincidence? I think not!)
You already know 'Andy' from "Safe At Home." (aka Drew Baldridge)
Dash Mihok--my 'Casey' in "For Me"
Sean Casey - 'Jake' in "The One He Chose"
'Ian' from "Haste Ye Back"
(Yes, Russell Crowe is a very easy choice for me!)
Jim Caviezel - 'Nick' -- "Wise Men Say"
"Respite's" 'Ryan'- my favorite author, Brad Thor
